ABOUT THE CLUB

Youth Court of Data is a dynamic, student-run non-profit, aimed at fostering skills in presentation, critical thinking, and political voice among the youth of our schools. We aim to do this by facilitating rich and meaningful debates, creating a space where students can engage with a variety of interesting topics, ranging from light-hearted discussions in pop culture or school politics to heavy, challenging, contrioversial topics surrounding politics, religion, morality, ethics just to name a few. At Youth Court of Data, we believe debate is a powerful tool that holds more meaning than mere argumentation and confliction, but rather a facilitation for growth, healthy discourse, and civil engagement.

Currently, our activities take place in Great Oak High School, where we host debates, argumentation workshops, and discussions in Room 605 during lunch on Mondays and Thursdays. Eventually, we aim to expand to allow other schools to host this club, acitivating countless opporotunites, such as school-to-school competitive debates, organization-wide events, and the faciltation of a diverse, intellectually-focused community that stretches across many schools.
